Things I learned This Week in English 3W03

Did You know?

-There are around  635 native reservations in Canada?

- The word Ontario is a Mohawk word meaning "beautiful lake"?

- Native people did not have the right to vote until 1961!

- The last "residential training school" in Canada closed in the 1970's?

-The word Toronto is a Mohawk word for "floating logs"

Q. How many of the points above are commonly known to the Canada born "Canadian"?
A. Not much at all.

-Did you know that All of the native reservations in Canada would physically fit inside the Navajo Reserve in the US?

- Maybe. Maybe Not.
